The 5K Pitch Challenge is based on the Elevator Pitch concept.

The competition provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses to participate in a pitching competition that will raise capital for their business.

The format is a series of networking events costing $15 to attend and/or compete. Each participant has the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of starting or expanding a business, while competing for a grand cash prize of $5,000. During each round, there will be a competition component and a feedback component for each presenter. After each event, there will be only one winner advancing to the final showdown. Each other participant will leave the event with feedback to improve their pitch and is invited to be an attendee at future events up until the finalist-only event.

The grand first prize winner will receive $5,000 in cash. The second and third place winners will receive non-monetary prizes consisting of professional services in either accounting, legal or business coaching. All other finalists will each receive a small non-cash prize

You will need to submit the following information:

1. One paragraph stating how you will spend the $5,000 cash
2. Elevator Pitch
3. Executive Summary

At each event, the presenters will have 5 minutes to pitch. Afterwards the judge(s) will ask questions and provide feedback to the presenters.

The pitch must discuss the following:

1. Your product or service
2. The pain point – what problem are you trying to solve?
3. The addressable market
4. Who are your competitors?
5. Your business model – how do you make money?
6. Your team – discuss experience
7. How much money you are trying to raise?
8. What will you do with the money raised?

The judge(s) at each event will pick the best pitch and that person becomes a finalist in the final showdown.
