Any day now, the U.S. Senate Committee on the Environment & Public Works could schedule an important vote on historic legislation to end the use of chimpanzees in cruel and painful invasive experiments and retire more than 500 federally owned chimpanzees to sanctuaries.
This bill—the Great Ape Protection and Costs Savings Act—has more support in Congress and from the public than ever, but those who profit from abusing the roughly 1,000 chimpanzees still imprisoned in laboratories have stepped up their efforts to stop this legislation.
It is critical, now more than ever, that Congress hear from compassionate constituents like you who want to grant chimpanzees the freedom that they deserve.
Please take a moment and click here to contact your members of Congress and urge them to co-sponsor the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act (H.R. 1513/S. 810).
